Aesthetic Face-Taping
Kinesis therapy taping was created for athletes in 1973 and was used on the body.
Taping for aesthetic purposes, however, differs entirely from its use in sport and medicine.
This is due to the anatomical construction of the face and its higher tissue sensitivity.
Certain properties of the tape are similar to human skin. It therefore stimulates metabolic and regenerative processes when applied to the face. The tape supports the muscle structure as microcirculation of lymphatic movement is fully depends from normal condition of muscles.. Depending on the healthy functioning of the muscles, the tape also affects the circulation and lymphatic movement by a direct effect on the nervous system.
The principle behind taping is activation, not fixation.
The main features of taping are:
-
an increase of intercellular space under the tape
-
change of muscle tone
-
lymph drainage effect
-
accelerated healing of wounds, re-absorption of hematomas, etc.
The face-taping method helps to transform the face in a short time, relaxes clipped muscles and drains excess fluid to tighten the facial contour and lift the corners of the mouth.
It helps you to achieve the following results:
-
smoothing of wrinkles around the lips
-
reduction of a double chin
-
smoothing of “crow’s feet”
-
smoothing of wrinkles on the forehead
-
reduction of nasolabial folds
-
lifting of the facial contour
-
reduction of lines under the eyes
-
lifting of the upper eyelids
-
reduction of shrinkage
The tape consists of 100% cotton and elastic fibres and does not contain any medical substances. It is extendible in one direction only, i.e. lengthwise, so the shape of the tape is always cut in the length. The glue is applied in waves layers for better adhesion to the skin. The glue used contains an acrylic that is activated by heating.
Good quality Kinesis tape is characterized by the same elasticity inherent to the skin, does not block sweat evaporating from the skin’s surface -thereby letting the skin breathe - and is resistant to water and does not lose its properties in contact with water. This allows the tape to last several days, maintaining a therapeutic effect.
In my practice I use “Cure Tape” (made in South Korea).
Face-taping is precision work. There are no ready-to-use tape templates. Each face is unique.
The treatment is NOT recommended in the event of:
-
illnesses accompanied by increased body temperature
-
infectious skin diseases (also fungi and viruses)
-
open damage to the skin such as scratches, burns, trophic ulcers, etc)
-
mental disorders
-
vascular thrombosis
-
allergic reaction to any component of the tape
Treatment may also not be advisable in the event of:
-
oncological disease
-
pregnancy
-
diabetes mellitus
-
spider veins
